Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my own jewelry?

This is only possible if you purchased the jewelry here at the studio or can inform us of the studio that sold you the same brands we carry here (or brands that meet the Association of Professional Piercer's standards) It can not have been worn by another person. Please use a soft bristle toothbrush to gently get rid of any build up on the jewelry before bringing it in so that we can safely reprocess it. The decontamination and sterilization reprocessing fee is $10 per piece. We are hyper critical of initial jewelry to ensure the safest piercing and best healing opportunity for you.

Do you require appointments?

We operate primarily by appointment for all piercing services including changes, downsizes and check-ups. If we have availability, we are happy to offer walk-ins but we prioritize our scheduled clients and have limited staffing and studio space. To book an appointment, either call the studio at 613-817-4057 or send us a message and we will respond as soon as possible.

Can I get multiple piercings at once?

Absolutely! We may limit the amount of piercings performed at once to not overwork the body's immune system. Generally, we can perform up to three piercings in the same session. For cartilage piercings, these three must all be done on the same ear, rather than opposing ears due to issues involved with sleeping on fresh or healing piercings.

Do you offer ear piercings for children?

Absolutely! Our studio prides itself on our expertise with younger clients, helping them have an amazing first piercing experience that is fun and focused on them, with the quality, safety and care they deserve.

How old do I need to be?

It depends on what piercing you want, please see our list of age requirements and services we offer. All clients under the age of 18 need parental consent.

Do I need ID?

Yes, we require one piece of government issued photo ID for all our piercing services. For clients requiring parental consent, a government issued ID such as a birth certificate or health card is sufficient when paired with the parent/guardian's ID.

Can I go swimming with a fresh piercing?

We do not recommend it, as bodies of water have a tonne of bacteria. We recommend to wait 6-8 weeks before swimming due to the risk of infection.

I am pregnant or breast-feeding; can I get pierced?

Due to potential risks, we do not offer any new piercing services to clients who are currently pregnant or within the first 6 months after giving birth. Your body has gone through a tremendous change and is using it's energy to heal; at this stage, it doesn't have the resources to heal a piercing well and is best to be patient. We are happy to change your jewelry in existing piercings though!

Can I start my piercing with ring/hoop style jewelry?

Ultimately, we respect your right to choose but we don't recommend it. We have found that starting with rings typically causes irritation, prolonged healing times and has a higher risk of infection due to the movement of the jewelry. Starting with a stud will give you the easiest possible healing and allow us to fit you with a perfectly snug ring once the piercing has healed. Daith and septum piercings are an exception to this as they do heal nicely with a ring style.

Do I really need to downsize my jewelry?

YES!!!!!!! Downsizing the length of your post once the swelling has gone down is extremely important for the health and longevity of your piercing. Although initially essential to accommodate swelling, if left too long, the extra length can cause irritation and migration of your piercing which may result in permanent scar tissue. (Some piercings may not require downsizing, check your aftercare sheet as to whether it is recommended for your piercing and at what time).
